Whether you’re planning a quick trip or a long stay, it’s always a good idea to create a detailed packing list for your next Florida adventure. From Jacksonville to Miami, there are so many beautiful places to visit in Florida, and the best way to enjoy them is to know what to pack! To help you get started, we’ve created the ultimate Florida vacation checklist:
From lazy beach days to Disney World adventures, it’s essential to bring the clothing that you’ll be most comfortable in. We recommend packing plenty of tank tops, t-shirts, bathing suits, sandals, flip-flops, walking shoes, and shorts—it is the Sunshine State after all. If you plan on an evening or two of fine dining, sun-dresses, skirts, polos, and light pants are ideal for a formal night out. The temperature can drop quite a bit at night, so we recommend packing a hoodie or cardigan as well.
Tip: If you plan on exploring Disney World or other theme parks in the area, consider packing extra clothes. The heat and humidity will catch up to you during the day, and you might want to change before your next adventure.
When it comes to packing for Florida, it’s always best to bring a quality beach bag to keep your belongings safe from the water and sand, and two pairs of sunglasses. One pair for relaxing at the pool and beach, and one pair for all-day outdoor adventures. For extra sunny days, we recommend packing a hat that can protect your face from a sunburn.
If you drop your phone often, it might be a good idea to pack a waterproof phone holder as well—this can put your mind at ease during any water excursions, or even just a day at the beach.
Tip: To stay safe from COVID-19 during your trip, bring a variety of face masks along for protection.
Perfect for exploring the beach or walking around Disney World, refillable water bottles will help you stay hydrated and keep you cool throughout the day. There’s no need to buy a new drink every few hours, and trust us, the Florida heat can drain you quite quickly!
Don’t forget to bring your favorite pool towels, lots of sunscreen, hand sanitizer, bug spray, lip balm, and aloe vera in case you spend a little too much time in the sun. If you have a portable speaker, bring it along for some beach tunes, and of course, make sure to pack a quality camera to document outdoor, and even underwater adventures.
Florida weather can be quite unpredictable, so we suggest bringing an umbrella or raincoat if you’re going to be spending the day outside, plus a portable fan if you’re going to be exploring a theme park in the heat all day!
Tip: To stay comfortable and relaxed during your flight, a neck pillow, a great book, and headphones are always a great idea to keep in your carry-on.
