Feb 19 2021 | Area Guide

Stretching from Palm Bay to Titusville, Florida’s Space Coast has been enticing visitors from around the world for decades. It’s no surprise, as this area has miles and miles of gorgeous coastline, interesting attractions, and of course, the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The Space Coast has been a primary launch site for America’s space program for over 50 years, and visitors have the unique chance to explore this history, participate in interactive exhibits, and view rocket launches!

If you’re here to soak up some famous Florida sunshine, the Space Coast boasts over 70 miles of sandy coastline and thousands of acres of freshwater rivers, lagoons, and wetlands waiting to be explored. Try your hand at surfing, take a kayak tour, or cast a line in the water- maybe you’ll catch your dinner! Another popular area attraction not to be missed is the incredible Brevard Zoo, a nonprofit facility that is home to over 900 animals.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

One of the area’s biggest attractions, the Kennedy Space Center, offers a glimpse into the history of America’s space program. Check out their interactive exhibits for an out-of-this-world experience. You can go for a spacewalk in the microgravity chamber, strap in for the Shuttle Launch Experience®, chat with an astronaut, and much more. This is also the closest public viewing area for rocket launches, so check their calendar and plan on an unforgettable trip!

Beaches

With over 70 miles of coastline to explore, the Space Coast is home to some of Florida’s best beaches. Surfers will love the break at Sebastian Inlet, and families are sure to appreciate the amenities that Melbourne Beach offers. Whether you want to sunbathe, build a sandcastle, or catch some waves, there is a beach with your name on it!

Dining

From quick bites to fine dining, you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to eating in the area! Fresh seafood is abundant on the Space Coast, and you can enjoy it in riverside eateries, oceanfront restaurants, and everything in between. Not a seafood fan? Don’t worry! Florida’s Space Coast is a haven for foodies of all stripes, and you can enjoy piping hot pizza, mouthwatering BBQ, spicy tacos, and much more at the plethora of locally-owned restaurants in the area. The Space Coast is home to several great craft breweries for all the beer connoisseurs out there too!
